Everyone deserves a vacation now and then, and that includes you. Think about that one vacation destination you have always wanted to visit but have never had the opportunity to do so and how much it would mean to you to go there. If that sounds good to you right now, then throw caution to the wind and just do it. Here are five vacation destinations that you should consider if you are looking for a getaway.
1. Puerto Rico
For beautiful beaches and water on a tropical landscape, look no further than Puerto Rico. If you live in the south-eastern United States or have a way to get there, you could even take a cruise to Puerto Rico. After all, the journey is just as important as the destination. Beach destinations are by far the most popular vacation spots, so you should be prepared to run into many people while you are there. The main appeal of beaches is the relaxation aspect, so allow yourself to put your worries behind you and enjoy the warm weather and sandy beaches.
2. Australia
The biggest con surrounding visiting Australia is how far away from the rest of the world it is. Planes are commonly physically unable to complete the flight in one shot, but it is worth the wait to see the land down under. The tourism industry of Australia knows what people want to see when they visit, so you can fully expect to see some kangaroos and giant spiders on your trip. However, Australia is not all dangerous animals, it also has plenty of historical sites, such as the world-famous Sydney Opera House.
3. London
Speaking of historical sites, a country with as long and rich a history as England is bound to have some of the most interesting pieces of history in its capital city. Whether you want to see impressive architecture from the modern age or ages long past, winding streets that give you an insight into the people of the past, or war rooms used by one of the most influential leaders in the history of the world, London is the city for you. London is also within a few hundred miles of several other important European cities that would be a joy to visit.
4. Los Angeles
If history isn’t your thing, maybe pop culture is. Los Angeles is the city with the single largest influence on pop culture since pop culture has existed. Whether you want to see where some of your favorite movies were filmed or visit a theme park based on them, there is a place in southern California for you. The Los Angeles area is also known for its beautiful landscape views. Just like Puerto Rico, it has plenty of warm beaches, but it is also near several small mountain ranges that will take your breath away.
5. Alaska
For a stark turn from anything else discussed on this list, Alaska is what you need. The first thing to note is that Alaska is cold, so if that does not suit you well make sure you pack plenty of clothing layers. Alaska is a land full of natural beauty. It is filled with snow-capped mountains and tales from the indigenous people of the state. For a particularly breathtaking experience, find a way to see the Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis. Alaska is often brushed off as a vacation spot for being too harsh, but the natural beauty you can experience in Alaska is unparalleled.
There is no limit to places you can visit as long as it is on Earth, and even then, commercial space exploration is not far off. People enjoy all sorts of different places, so do some soul searching to figure out where you truly want to go. As long as you take the proper precautions to keep yourself safe when traveling outside of your home country, you will have a fantastic experience.
