EU Questions Microsoft rivals over Teams integration in Office

The European Union has responded to a complaint by Slack Technologies, asking the rival Microsoft about the Team integration. The company was underlining whether the acquirement is beneficial to Exeter more influence or not. The investigation later opened with the first approach by sending a questionnaire.

The questionnaire in question was sent to rivals, focusing on the year 2016 to 2021. It was when Microsoft first introduced Teams as a response to e competition with other rivals, including Slack and other companies in the fast-growing workplace market.

In July, Slack, bought by Salesforce.com, filed a complaint sent directly to Microsoft Team’s software with the Commission. Microsoft, which previously has tangled into a binding and other previous practices, had to pay $2.6 billion for the trouble. The company decided not to give any comment about this complaint.

Slack confronted the company, stating the integration was illegal and the separation should be done immediately. In the complaint, it was said that Microsoft had installed a chat feature in the work product. It’s difficult to uninstall, as claimed.

The questionnaire asked about several things. There’s a question about the expansion in the workplace application market, the importance of user data protection, and other related music and video for customers.

Other competitors were then asked about the list of customers who switched to Microsoft Teams, revenue lost percentage, and the impact of this integration on their investment, price, and the quality of their products. The file also mentioned whether the COVID had affected the usage of this application.
