What are you going to use it for: homework vs. leisure?
The first question you have to ask yourself is what you are going to use it for. In other words, the characteristics required by a child who is going to use it only at home will be very different from another who intends to take it to school to use it as a work tool. Precisely if we talk about the audiovisual content part, our child will need a more powerful computer with greater storage capacity. Here we will look at the number of gig as (or tears) of RAM and ROM, because this content is precisely the takes up more space; although we will address these issues later. So that you can upload the reproductions that you modify without major problem, you must have a sufficiently fast and latest generation processor. With a laptop, however, you always have the ability to take it with you no matter where you go. Something very comfortable and a great point in its favor, especially if you are going to use it at home to do homework and you also need it at school to teach audiovisual work, show a presentation, etc. In addition, there are currently very powerful ones and they have nothing to envy to larger PCs.
Convertibles are a very interesting alternative. These are computers that look similar to a laptop but can be “disassembled”, folded, or the like, to be used as a tablet and many other ways. It is a great option for those who prefer a more versatile gadget, since with them it will be easier for them to enjoy their favorite games in front of the television, and view YouTube Kids videos by placing it on the table in the various positions they usually offer. That is, they can do their homework in normal mode, and rotate the screen and place the hybrid on its feet to watch a movie when they are done.
In addition, this kind of “two in one” has a touch screen, something very comfortable whether we use it as a conventional computer, or if we do it in tablet mode. The reason? Regarding weight, it is more than likely that you do not want your child to carry enough books in the backpack, to add the kilos of an excessively heavy computer. In any case, this choice will largely depend on whether your child is going to take him to school very often.
